Announcing a New Book: Integrated Holistic Yoga Psychology
Friends - It is finally here. A companion book series to accompany the YogaX 200-hour and 300-hour training programs. The first book has just been released — Integrated Holistic Yoga Psychology (covering yoga philosophy and pedagogy) and here is a link and description:
The quest to know who we are and express our true essence guides our lives and relationships. However, our self-definitions and experiences of the world can be distorted, outdated, rooted in habit, or conditioned by circumstances. We often live an unquestioned life, lacking a sense of meaning or purpose, caught up in unconscious patterns and ruts. We go about our lives as if they were a preparation for something else - simply a rehearsal for a better future. Yet occasionally, we wake up and realize that this is it - this life is the one to live in a way that counts, improves the world, gives something back, makes a difference. In those moments, we begin our existential search for a better way to be and look for guideposts and advice on how to grow and transform.
The practice of yoga, rooted in ancient wisdom and current-day research, offers a framework for daily living that explores the human experiences that guide actions and decisions. Ancient yogis discovered that by becoming mindfully aware of how we make choices, gaining insight into the truths of human life, and developing compassion with ourselves and our larger web of life, we can transform ourselves and become a positive force in the world.
Integrated Holistic Yoga Psychology, first in a series of three volumes on Therapeutic Yoga Teaching, Clinical Service, and Practice, offers a profound look at the transformative power of yoga psychology, applied to daily living, yoga teaching, and yoga practice. Through a deep exploration of yoga psychology from a developmental perspective, this book offers a framework for understanding human physicality, vitality, emotionality, mentality, and relationships as profound expressions of our humanity and power to create change for ourselves and our greater communities. Whether you are the director of a yoga teacher training program, yoga teacher in training, experienced yoga professional, or dedicated yoga practitioner, Integrated Holistic Yoga Psychology is for you.
