YogaX Integrated Holistic Yoga Therapy Program

An 800-Hour Professional Training Program at

Stanford Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences

YogaX stands at the intersection of modern science and ancient wisdom. Our lineage honors yoga’s cultural origins while integrating neurobiology, psychology, and lifestyle medicine within the unique biopsychosociocultural contexts of those we serve.

Graduates emerge with the knowledge, skills, abilities, confidence, and credibility to contribute meaningfully to the transformation of healthcare and to offer yoga therapy as a powerful modality for individual and collective wellbeing, healing, and thriving.

Program Overview
The YogaX 800-Hour Integrated Holistic Yoga Therapy Program is designed for yoga teachers and healthcare professionals seeking to bring yoga therapy into clinical and community settings. Rooted in ancient yogic traditions and supported by modern science, the program equips graduates to deliver accessible, equitable, and evidence-based yoga therapy to diverse populations, including underserved and under-resourced communities.

Trainees graduate prepared to meet the highest standards of care (e.g., such as those set by the International Association of Yoga Therapists; IAYT) and to practice with integrity across healthcare, mental healthcare, and community contexts.

What You Will Learn

The program curriculum integrates five domains of study, woven together through intensive didactic modules, mentored practica, and a supportive community.

  • Yoga Foundations – philosophy, psychology, history, and frameworks for health and disease.

  • Biomedical & Psychological Foundations – anatomy, physiology, neuroscience, psychology, and movement science.

  • Yoga Therapy Tools & Skills – therapeutic relationship-building, psychoeducation, coaching skills, and tailored yoga therapy interventions.

  • Professional Practice Essentials – ethics, scope of practice, cultural humility, legal and regulatory issues.

  • Practicum & Mentorship – 150+ hours of supervised application in healthcare and community settings and 30 hours of mentorship.

The first step toward becoming a YogaX Yoga Therapist is to complete one of the YogaX 300-hour advanced training programs, through which trainees build a strong foundation in integrated holistic yoga and demonstrate foundational teaching competencies. Upon completion of one of these programs, trainees can advance into the 360-hour postgraduate curriculum, designed to deepen foundational therapeutic knowledge and skills for clinical applications. The journey culminates with 150+ hours of practicum, through which trainees integrate their learning in real-world healthcare and community settings, preparing them to graduate as confident, ethical, and practice-ready yoga therapists.
